This document is applicable to welding-end fittings such as elbows, caps, tees, single or multiple extruded headers, reducers, and transition sections made from seamless and welded pipe of unalloyed or low-alloy steels. This document specifies three classes of fitting corresponding to increasing quality requirements in accordance with the technical delivery conditions of ISO 3183 for pipe. This document is not applicable to the selection of the fitting class. This document is not applicable to the materials for, or the attachment of, factory-welded extensions. On-land supply systems used by the gas supply industry are excluded from the scope of this document.

    This part of EN 14870 applies to weldneck and blind flanges (full face, raised face, and RTJ groove) as well as anchor, swivel-ring flanges and orifice flanges. This part of EN 14870 specifies the technical requirements for carbon steel and low-alloy steel forged flanges for use in pipeline transportation systems for the petroleum and natural gas industries as defined in ISO 13623. This part of EN 14870 designates those categories of flanges that meet the industry's need to match ISO 3183 pipe. These flanges are for normal and low-temperature service and include supplementary requirements where required for sour service. Materials for, or the attachment of, factory-welded extensions, bolting materials, gaskets, slip-on flanges or flanged fittings are not covered by this part of EN 14870. This part of EN 14870 is not applicable to integrally cast or forged flanges for valves, pumps or other equipment. This part of EN 14870 does not cover the selection of the flange category or pressure class. Sizes and pressure classes listed in ISO 7005-1 and applicable to this part of EN 14870 are as follows: – DN 10 (NPS 1/2) to DN 1500 (NPS 60); – PN 20 (class 150), PN 50 (class 300), PN 100 (class 600), PN 150 (class 900), PN 250 (class 1500), PN 420 (class 2500). On-land supply systems used by the gas supply industry are excluded from the scope of this document.

    This European Standard is intended to describe the qualification procedure for type approval of the tightness of hermetically sealed and closed components, joints and parts used in refrigerating systems and heat pumps as described in EN 378. The sealed and closed components, joints and parts concerned are, in particular, fittings, bursting discs, flanged or fitted assemblies. The tightness of flexible piping made from non-metallic materials is dealt with in EN 1736. Metal flexible piping are covered by this standard. The requirements contained in this document are applicable to joints of maximum DN 50 and components of internal volume of maximum 5 l and maximum weight of 50 kg. This document is intended to characterise their tightness stresses met during their operations, following the fitting procedure specified by the manufacturer, and to specify the minimal list of necessary information to be provided by the supplier of a component to the person in charge of carrying out this procedure. It specifies the level of tightness of the component, as a whole, and its assembly as specified by its manufacturer. It applies to the hermetically sealed and closed components, joints and parts used in the refrigerating installations, including those with seals, whatever their material and their design are. This European Standard specifies additional requirements for mechanical joints that can be recognised as hermetically sealed joints.

    This Standard specifies requirements and gives information on design, installation and testing and gives criteria for the acceptance of fixed landbased watermist systems for specific hazards and provides fire test protocols for a variety of hazard groups. The requirements are not valid for watermist systems on ships, in aircraft, on vehicles and mobile fire appliances or for below ground systems in the mining industry. The requirements can be used as a guidance for other fixed firefighting systems, however, provided that any specific requirements for other firefighting supplies are taken into account. Aspects of watermist associated with explosion protection are beyond the scope of this document. As the fire test scenarios of this document apply to a group of similar applications, by analogy the successful performance of watermist systems also applies to that group, as defined in Annex A. Extrapolation is not covered. The document is not intended to be used as a universal design manual of watermist, as different systems have different characteristics and hence follow different design criteria to satisfy their duty requirements. In the absence of a generalized design method, it is the intent of this document that watermist systems are full-scale fire tested and its system component evaluations are conducted by qualified testing laboratories. The full system acceptance requires the relevant fire test report, the component test report(s) as well as manufacturer's design, installation, operation and maintenance manual for the application. If the gas in the system is a significant factor for extinguishment/suppression, the relevant parts of EN 12094 and EN 15004-1 are applicable. Firefighting systems in accordance with EN 12845 and water spray systems are not covered.

This European Standard, EN 14797 and EN 14460 form a series of three standards which are used together. This European Standard is applicable to: – vent sizing to protect against the internal pressure effects of a gas explosion; - flame and pressure effects outside the enclosure; - recoil forces; - influence of vent ducts; - influence of initial temperature and pressure. This European Standard does not provide design and application rules against effects generated by detonation reactions or runaway exothermic reactions including decomposition in the gas phase. This standard completes the requirements of clause 5.8.4 Longitudinal stability of EN 1459. The LLMI has been designated by the words longitudinal safety warning devices in EN 1459. This standard covers LLMI and LLMC systems for stationary trucks performing loading or placing functions on consolidated, stable and level ground. This standard does not cover the risk due to lateral instability, or instability due to the travelling of the truck. The LLMI and LLMC are not intended for warning of the overturning risk whilst the truck is travelling. NOTE: Acknowledging that, at the time of publication, the requirements included in this standard do not represent the state of the art, a transition period of 24 months is permitted after the date of publication, such that manufacturers can develop their products sufficiently to meet the requirements of this standard.
