    This standard specifies test cases to be applied to and correctly handled by EVs (EVCC) and EVSEs (SECC) implementing ISO 15118-2. The system under test will comprise: (A) A simulated SECC to verify the correct behaviour of a real EVCC (B) A simulated EVCC to verify the correct behaviour of a real SECC The test documents will specify test cases for all requirements defined in ISO 15118-2 and ISO 15118-3 verifying e.g. the following aspects: 1. Correct handling of basic signalling (as defined in ISO 15118-3) and states as basis for high level communication incl. various trigger conditions after plug-in process. 2. Initialization of communication and charge spot discovery. 3. Connection establishment, interruption and reestablishment. 4. Proper implementation of security measures defined in ISO 15118-2. 5. Proper implementation of the individual profiles and use-cases described in ISO 15118-1 (e.g. load levelling, plug & charge payment, authentication, etc.). The test cases will cover positive tests (defined according to ISO 15118-2 and ISO 15118-3). Also, error scenarios (e.g., incorrectly formatted requests, invalid content of messages, disconnect during communication, power outage and restart, security tests) as well as tests for timing behaviour shall be defined which also have to be handled by EVCC and SECC to ensure interoperability of EVSEs and EVs. The test cases will be structured according to the OSI layer (1…7) whereas it has to be determined during the creation of the test specification whether certain OSI layers will be tested from a functional perspective (e.g., PHY, IPv6, TCP, …), or not tested at all (if these are well known protocols). The specific contents of ISO 15118-2 will be tested thoroughly. The test cases will include standard test case attributes like pre-conditions, test steps, expected results to evaluate a pass or a fail and post-conditions to be applied to return the system under test to a safe state.

    This International Standard specifies conformance tests in the form of an Abstract Test Suite (ATS) for a System Under Test (SUT) implementing an Electric Vehicle- or Supply Equipment Communication Controller (EVCC or SECC) with support for PLC-based High Level Communication (HLC) and Basic Signaling according to ISO/IEC 15118-3. These conformance tests specify the testing of capabilities and behaviors of an SUT, as well as checking what is observed against the conformance requirements specified in ISO/IEC 15118-3 and against what the implementer states the SUT implementation's capabilities are. The capability tests within the ATS check that the observable capabilities of the SUT are in accordance with the static conformance requirements defined in ISO/IEC 15118-3. The behavior tests of the ATS examine an implementation as thoroughly as is practical over the full range of dynamic conformance requirements defined in ISO/IEC 15118-3 and within the capabilities of the SUT (see NOTE 1). A test architecture is described in correspondence to the ATS. The conformance test cases in this part of the standard are described leveraging this test architecture and are specified in TTCN-3 Core Language for the ISO/OSI Physical and Data Link Layers (Layers 1 and 2). The conformance test cases for the ISO/OSI Network Layer (Layer 3) and above are described in Part 4 of this standard.

    This part of this International Standard specifies the requirements of the physical and data link layer for a High Level Communication (HLC), directly between battery electric vehicles (BEV) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) based on a wireless communication technology and the electrical charging installation Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE). The wireless communication technology is used as an alternative to the wired communication technology as defined in ISO 15118-3. It covers the overall information exchange between all actors involved in the electrical energy exchange. ISO 15118 (all parts) is applicable for conductive charging as well as Wireless Power Transfer (WPT). For conductive charging, only “IEC 61851-1 modes 3 and 4” EVSEs supporting HLC, are covered by this part of ISO 15118. For wireless power transfer, charging sites according to IEC 61980 and ISO 19363 are covered by this part of ISO 15118.

    This European Standard applies to new designs of locomotives and passenger carrying rolling stock as defined in categories C-I to C-IV of Clause 4 taking into consideration the recommendations given in Annex E on the application of the standard (migration rule). It is intended to protect vehicle occupants, through the preservation of structural integrity, and does not extend to other railway employees and customers who are not in vehicles, or to third parties. The specified requirements relate to the technical and operational conditions of use that prevail in the CEN member countries. The design of new vehicles for use in passenger trains is based on operations with compatible rolling stock that also meet this standard. It is recognised that operational requirements will require new crashworthy and existing non-crashworthy vehicles to exist in the same train unit but such combinations of vehicles are not required to comply with this European Standard. The requirements apply to the vehicle body, and to those mechanical elements directly associated with it that may be used to absorb energy in a collision, such as couplers, buffing systems etc. They do not cover the safety features of doors, windows, system components or interior features except for specific issues relating to the preservation of survival space. The requirements do not cover all possible accident scenarios but provide a level of crashworthiness that will reduce the consequences of an accident, when the active safety measures have been inadequate. The requirement is to provide a level of protection by addressing the most common types of collision that cause injuries and fatalities. The applicable design collision scenarios, and suitable parameters for normal European operations, are given in Clause 5. Annex A gives additional information regarding the derivation of the scenarios and describes situations when they may need to be modified and the processes that should then be followed.
