    This standard:  defines the various profiles needed to install, verify and maintain the various structures near the structure gauge;  lists the various phenomena to be taken into account to determine the structure gauge;  defines a methodology that may be used to calculate the various profiles from these phenomena;  lists the rules to determine the distance between the track centres;  lists the rules to be complied with when building the platforms;  lists the rules to determine the pantograph gauge;  lists the formulae needed to calculate the structure gauges in the catalogue. The defined gauge includes the space to be gauged and maintained to allow the running of rolling stock, and the rules for calculation and verification intended for sizing the rolling stock to run on one or several infrastructures without interference risk. This standard defines methodologies to demonstrate gauge compatibility between infrastructure and rolling stock. This standard defines the responsibilities of the following parties: a) for the infrastructure: 1) gauge clearance; 2) maintenance; 3) infrastructure monitoring. b) for the rolling stock: 1) compliance of the operating rolling stock with the gauge concerned; 2) maintenance of this compliance over time. The gauges included in these standards have been developed as part of their application on European railways. Other networks such as regional, local, urban and suburban networks may apply the gauge regulations defined in this standard. They may be required to make use of specific methodologies, particularly where:  specific rolling stock is used (for example: underground trains, trams, etc. operating on two rails);  use occurs in other ranges of radii;  others, etc. The catalogue included in this standard only includes a selection of gauges and is not exhaustive. Each network is free to define the gauges in accordance with their own needs.

    This European Standard establishes definitions and evaluation methods for wheel-rail contact geometry parameters influencing the vehicle running dynamic behaviour: – the rolling radius difference between the two wheels of a wheelset (Δr-function) which serves as a basis for all further calculations, – the equivalent conicity function from which are derived – a single equivalent conicity value for a specified amplitude which is relevant for the assessment of vehicle running stability on straight track and in very large radius curves according to EN 14363 – the nonlinearity parameter which characterizes the shape of this function and is related to the vehicle behaviour particularly in the speed range close to the running stability limit, – the rolling radii coefficient which is used to describe the theoretical radial steering capability of a wheelset in a curved track. Additional information is given about the relationship between the contact angles of the two wheels of a wheelset (Δγ -function) which serves as a basis for the calculation of the linearized parameters gravitational stiffness and the roll angle parameter. NOTE Out of the presented parameters only those related to the contact angle are relevant for independently rotating wheels of wheel pairs. Descriptions of possible calculation methods are included in this European Standard. Test case calculations are provided to achieve comparable results and to check the proper implementation of the described algorithms. To validate alternative methods not described in this European Standard acceptance criteria are given for the equivalent conicity function. This includes reference profiles, profile combinations, tolerances and reference results with tolerance limits. This European Standard also includes minimum requirements for the measurement of wheel and rail profiles as well as of the parameters needed for the transformation into a common coordinate system of right- and left-hand profiles. This European Standard does not define limits for the wheel-rail contact geometry parameters and gives no tolerances for the rail profile and the wheel profile to achieve acceptable results. For the application of this European Standard some general recommendations are given.

    This European Standard specifies fundamental techniques of computed radiography with the aim of enabling satisfactory and repeatable results to be obtained economically. The techniques are based on the fundamental theory of the subject and tests measurements. This document specifies the general rules for industrial computed X- and gamma radiography for flaw detection purposes, using storage phosphor imaging plates (IP). It is based on the general principles for radiographic examination of metallic materials on the basis of films (ISO 5579). The basic set-up of radiation source, detector and the corresponding geometry shall be applied in agreement with ISO 5579 and the corresponding product standards as e.g. ISO 17636 for welding and EN 12681 for foundry. It does not lay down acceptance criteria of the imperfections. Digital detectors provide a digital grey value image which can be viewed and evaluated on basis of a computer only. This practice describes the recommended procedure for detector selection and radiographic practice. Selection of computer, software, monitor, printer and viewing conditions are important but not in the main focus of this standard. The procedure specified by this standard, provides the minimum requirements and practice which permits to expose and acquire digital radiographs with equivalent sensitivity for detection of imperfections as film radiography and as specified in ISO 5579.

    This European Standard specifies requirements for pads for disc brakes of railway rolling stock. This European Standard is applicable to pads designed to be fitted to disc braked rail vehicles regardless of whether they are interoperable or their operation is restricted to national networks. The brake pad may be manufactured from any material on the basis that it conforms to 6.2 of this document, and will hereafter be called ""pad"". This document defines the pad that together with the brake disk forms the friction couple which provides the dynamic brake torque. Details for nominal performance and associated tolerances are contained in Annex A to E. It also covers the static behaviour of pads used in a parking or holding brake. The use of pads with other friction coefficients is permitted if the required brake performance is achieved. A pad is a safety critical component.

    This European Standard applies to Hydraulic binder for non-structural applications in construction used as binder for preparation of mortar for masonry, rendering and plastering and other non structural construction products. This European Standard specifies the definition and composition of Hydraulic binder for non-structural applications (HB). It includes physical, mechanical and chemical requirements and defines strength classes. EN 15368 also states the conformity criteria and the related rules. Necessary durability requirements are also given. NOTE – For normal applications the information given in this standard, and in the masonry specifications, EN 998-1 and EN 998-2, is generally sufficient. However, in special cases, an exchange of additional information between the producer and user can be helpful. The details of such an exchange are not within the scope of this standard but should be dealt with in accordance with national standards or other regulations or can be agreed between the parties concerned. Terms of delivery or other contractual conditions, normally included in documents exchanged between the supplier and the purchaser of Hydraulic binder for non-structural applications, are outside the scope of this European Standard.

It gives information, which will facilitate the implementation of EN 14534. It gives an overview of the processes required and factors to consider when measuring quality of service. It provides guidance on alternative approaches allowed in the standard including how to select and calculate alternative or additional discriminant factors and methods for weighting of strata. It describes a process for implementation of the measurement system, and provides examples and clarification on specific requirements of EN 14534. It gives information on how to interpret the test results obtained by measurement according to the standard. This Technical Report does not alter in any way the requirements of EN 14534. It is concerned with technical issues in the implementation of the measurement system. The Technical Report provides guidance but it does not specify how the regulators shall enforce and monitor the use of the standard since this is the responsibility of the European Commission and the national regulatory authorities themselves.

    This European Standard specifies the relevant characteristics of geosynthetic barriers (polymeric, clay and bituminous geosynthetic barriers), used as fluid barriers in infrastructure works, e.g. roads, railroads, runways of airports, and the appropriate test methods to determine these characteristics. Tunnels and underground structures are addressed in EN 13491. The intended use of these products is to control the pathway of liquids through the construction and to limit any contamination, e.g. by de-icing products, of groundwater or water sources. This European Standard is applicable to geosynthetic barriers, but not to geotextiles or geotextile-related products, as defined in EN ISO 10318. This European Standard provides for the evaluation of conformity of the product to this European Standard. This European Standard defines requirements to be met by manufacturers and their authorised representatives with regard to the presentation of product properties. This European Standard does not cover applications where the geosynthetic barrier will be in contact with water that has been treated for human consumption. In these cases other relevant standards, requirements and/or regulations should be observed.

    This standard is applicable for internally coated aluminium tubes, mainly used for the packing of pharmaceutical, cosmetic, hygiene, food or other household products. The internal coating is used as a barrier and should avoid any contact between aluminium and the product. This standard defines two alternative methods – copper sulphate and sodium chloride method – to detect the electrolyte conductivity as one criterion for the quality of the internal coating. NOTE – The electrolyte conductivity of the internal coating is only one criterion for evaluation of the quality of an internal coating. It does not give any information on the quantity or size of any pores or uncoated areas, nor any hint on possible reactions between the aluminium tube and the product. The electrolyte conductivity should never be used as the sole criterion for quality evaluation of the internal coating, but always with other parameters e.g. film thickness, acetone and/or ammonia resistance and of course results of enhanced stability studies.

This standard defines the sensors to be attached to the device, and specifies the minimum requirements for the parameters to be adjusted. It also defines the minimum requirements for the data analysis, as well as the data presentation. This standard covers the complete recording equipment, including its accelerometers and the data analysis in an external data processing unit. The accelerometers can be integrated into the device or separately mounted from it (external sensors). This standard also applies to the routine monitoring of individual transportations.

    This European Standard specifies inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) method for the determination of calcium, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc, copper, manganese, cobalt, molybdenum after dry ashing and dissolving in hydrochlorid acid in the case of organic feeding stuffs and after wet digestion with hydrochloric acid in the case of inorganic (mineral) feeds and for the determination of the element lead as extractable lead in minerals, especially phyllosilicates (e.g. kaolinitic clay) and feeds containing phyllosilicates after wet digestion with 5 % nitric acid. The method was successfully tested for - minerals calcium, sodium, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium and the elements iron, zinc, copper, manganese, cobalt, molybdenum in following animal feeding stuffs: pig feed, sheep feed, phosphate, mineral premixture, and mineral mixtures. - element lead in phosphate, CaCO3, Bentonite, CuSO4, mineral mixture; cadmium was only tested in phosphate. The method detection limit for each element is dependent on the sample matrix as well as of the instrument. The method is not applicable for determination of low concentrations of elements. The limit of quantification should be 3 mg/kg or lower. NOTE – This method can also be used for the determination of minerals in products with high mineral content (> 5%), yet for this purpose, other more precise analytical techniques are available.
