Stationary source emissions - Reference method for the determination of CO2 concentration and mass emissions

    Oprindelse:
    CEN
    Status
Forslag om nyt arbejdsemne under udarbejdelse
    Beskrivelse
This European Standard specifies a reference method for the determination of CO2 concentration and mass emission rates from stationary source emissions. The method is applicable for the calibration of continuous CO2 emissions monitors and for the provision of periodic and short-term measurement of CO2 concentration and mass emission rates. The target uncertainty for the method should be +/- 1 % for CO2 concentration and 2,5 % for mass emission rates. This European Standard supports the requirements of EU Directives 2003/87/EC and 2009/29/EC.

Characterization of waste - Framework for the preparation and application of a testing programme - General information on content tests and leaching tests

    Oprindelse:
    CEN
    Status
Forslag om nyt arbejdsemne under udarbejdelse
    Komite
    Beskrivelse
This CEN/TR is to provide comprehensive information on two key aspects ofwaste testing, content and leaching. Some information is already available as informative annex in certain standard prepared by CEN/TC 292. But these annexes are not fully coherent and address only partly these two aspects, content and leaching. This CEN/TR provides, for instance for content testing, coherent and comprehensive information on the extraction methods and the interpretation of test results as well as guidance on the choice of such a method. This CEN/TR also provides, for instance for leaching tests, coherent and comprehensive information on the leaching methods, guidance on the selection of the adequate leaching test for the relevant scenario, and the interpretation of test results. In case of mass balance studies content is of relevance. Content is also of relevance for substances that are banned (zero level does not exist) or when leaching is not or not yet feasible for the substances of interest. Analysis of the content of substances in waste or waste derived products is of limited relevance from an environmental impact perspective, as generally only a very minor fraction of the total content of a substance in waste or waste derived product is leachable and thus can be transported from the waste or waste derived product to its surroundings through the water phase. For assessing impact of waste or a waste derived product the application of leaching tests is the preferred approach.

Characterization of waste - Framework for the preparation and application of a testing programme - Guidelines for the elaboration of standardised testing methods

    Beskrivelse
This CEN/TS provides guidance for coordination, coherence and interfacing, for harmonised concepts such as blank test, harmonised specific vocabulary and definitions used in the field of waste testing....etc. This is now needed and useful since CEN/TC 292 is now entering a period of possible revision of the already published standards. This can be done in a structured and coherent way using experiences and requirements given in this Technical specification. As shown in annex B and sub-clause 4.2.2 of prEN 16457, testing a waste parameter requires the use of several standards in order to cover all the testing steps. Therefore coordination, coherence and interfacing are critical for the testing quality.

Stationary source emissions - Mercury monitoring using sorbent traps

    Oprindelse:
    CEN
    Status
Forslag om nyt arbejdsemne under udarbejdelse
    Beskrivelse
This standard specifies a procedure to use solid sorbent trap systems for measuring the concentration of mercury (Hg – oxidized, elemental and particulate) to the atmosphere from industrial stacks and flues. This method may be used instead of EN 13211 (wet chemical method for mercury) and EN 14884 (AMS method for mercury). This new standard will be based on US EPA Method 30B – K tubes/sorbent traps. This standard describes the methodology and equipment required, including the sampling system, sample gas conditioning system, and sorbent materials togehter with details of the sample extraction methods to prepare the sample for analysis. The method described in this standard is a batch-based system for collecting a total sample of mercury over a predetermined period of time. The concentration is then averaged over the sample period. The system is recommended for use in at least duplicate trains. This standard would be developed for compliance assessment monitoring as well as calibration and verification work under applicable standards and EC Directives including the regulatory monitoring required by EC Directives for waste incineration, large combustion plant and integrated pollution prevention and control. Annual mercury monitoring is required under the new EU IED.

    Beskrivelse
This Standard specifies the safety requisites requirements and their verification for the design and building of machines (see the definition in point 3.2) for mounting and demounting tyres on the vehicles listed below and identified according to the international categories M1, M2, N1, O1, O2, L4 and L5: a) cars b) buses c) lorries d) motor-vehicles for specific or special transport e) mobile homes f) cargo trailers g) car trailers h) motorised quadricycles i) motor vehicles j) mopeds k) agricultural machines (if the wheel/tyre dimensions are compatible with the maximum dimensions indicated in the tyre changer user instructions) The vehicles listed in points a) to f) must have an overall full-load mass no greater than 3.5 t. These machines are designed to ensure the tyre is correctly fitted on the wheel in safe conditions. The standard describes how to eliminate or reduce the risks resulting from the foreseen use (or improper but reasonably foreseeable use) of these machines by the operator during normal operation and service. In addition, it specifies the type of information that the manufacturer must supply with regards to safe working procedures. The Standard describes all the significant hazards (as listed in Table 1) and the danger situations and events relating to these machines. This Standard does not apply to hazards regarding maintenance or repairs carried out by professional maintenance personnel.

Curriculum for training ICT Professionals in Universal Design

    Oprindelse:
    CEN
    Status
    Forslag om nyt arbejdsemne vedtaget
    Komite
    Beskrivelse
The original scope of CWA 16266:2011 is maintained unchanged also in the proposed EN. It reads : The goal of this CEN workshop agreement is to describe and recommend a curriculum for training ICT professionals in the Universal Design approach. Universal Design aims to design ICT products and services so that, to the widest extent possible, they can be used by everyone without the need for specialised solutions or adaptations and regardless of a person’s age, ability or disability or physical environment. Accessible Design (AD) is closely related to Universal Design. It emphasises adaptive design and interoperability with assistive devices. These training guidelines are for use for anyone in industry developing continuous professional development training materials to educate ICT professionals in the Universal Design approach. These ICT professionals, as set out in 4.2 include: – executive manager; – middle manager; – software and hardware developer; – designer; – reviewer and tester; – marketing and communication personnel; – human resources personnel. The training guidelines are designed for use by ICT professionals. Those who benefit from improved design of ICT systems are listed in 5.1 and include people experiencing some form of performance limitation due to age, size, physical environment, ability or disability. The curriculum guidelines cover ten essential topics that were identified as relevant for Universal Design. Each topic can be taught at one of three levels of granularity, Introduction, Major Aspects and Details. The curriculum is modular, each units deal with are a certain topic at a certain level of detail. A concrete course can be composed from these units, to accommodate the needs of the target audience.

Gullies for buildings – Part 7: Trapped floor gullies with mechanical closure

    Oprindelse:
    CEN
    Status
    Forslag om nyt arbejdsemne vedtaget
    Beskrivelse
This European Standard classifies floor gullies for use inside buildings, gives guidance for places of installation and specifies requirements for the construction, design, performance and marking of factory made gullies for buildings, irrespective of the material, for use in drainage systems requiring a trap with a mechanical closure (referred to as floor gullies). Note: Floor gullies with a mechanical closure are not covered by Part 1, Part 6, Part 8. These products are intended to be installed where: - the building does not exceed a ground-floor and three floors above; - infrequent use could result in a water seal evaporating.
