Safety of packaging machines - Part 4: Palletisers and depalletisers

    Oprindelse:
    CEN
    Status
    Forslag om nyt arbejdsemne vedtaget
    Beskrivelse
This standard specifies the safety requirements for the design, manufacture and information for safe use of palletisers, depalletisers, and stackers/unstackers of empty pallets integrated or not into a (de)palletiser as defined in 3.1. In many respects palletisers and depalletisers present the same risks. In this text they are referred to together as (de)palletisers. For manipulating industrial robots used in (de)palletiser applications this standard and EN 775 apply. These safety requirements apply to automatic and semi-automatic (de)palletisers. They take into account the hazards which may occur during setting, commissioning and decommissioning, adjustment, use according to the information given by the manufacturer, maintenance (both preventive and repair) and cleaning. This standard does not cover the following hazards which can occur on (de)palletisers in certain circumstances: – Heat; – Noise; – Radiation; – Fumes, gas, dust; – Vibration; – Ergonomics (see EN 614-1:1995). Furthermore this standard does not cover hazards arising from contents of the load (e.g. toxic or flammable materials). Linked equipment, before and after the (de)palletiser, which is not an integral part of (de)palletising machinery, (for example pallet load securing) is not covered by this standard. This standard applies primarily to the machines which are manufactured after the date of issue of the standard (see EN 415-4:1997)

    Forslag om nyt arbejdsemne vedtaget
    Beskrivelse
This European Standard specifies the general safety requirements for earth-moving machinery 1) described in EN ISO 6165:2012, except horizontal directional drill. NOTE 1 – Horizontal directional drills are covered by the EN 16228 series. This European standard also applies to derivative machinery (see 3.1.2) designed primarily for use with equipment to loosen, pick-up, move, transport, distribute and grade earth and rock. This European standard gives the common safety requirements for earth-moving machinery families and is intended to be used in conjunction with one of the EN 474 parts 2 to 12 13 These machine specific parts (EN 474-2 to – 13) do not repeat the requirements from EN 474-1:201x, but add or replace the requirements for the family in question. NOTE 3 – The requirements specified in this part of the standard are common to two or more families of earth- moving machinery. This part gives specific requirements for demolition machinery. Specific requirements in EN 474 parts 2 to 13 take precedence over the respective requirements of EN 474-1:201x. For multipurpose machinery the parts of the standard that cover the specific functions and applications have to be used e.g. a compact loader also used as a trencher shall use the relevant requirements of EN 474 parts 1, 3 and 10. The standard also covers general requirements for attachments intended to be used with earth moving machine families covered in the scope. Except for part 12 this European Standard does not deal with the electrical hazards related to the main circuits and drives of machinery when the principal source of energy is electrical. This European Standard does not deal with towing of trailers. This European Standard deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to earth-moving machinery, when used as intended and under conditions foreseen but also taking taking into account nay reasonably foreseeable misuse thereof (see Clause 4). This European Standard specifies ...

Automotive fuels - LPG - Requirements and test methods

    Oprindelse:
    CEN
    Status
    Forslag om nyt arbejdsemne vedtaget
    Beskrivelse
This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for marketed and delivered automotive LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas). It is applicable to automotive LPG for use in LPG engine vehicles designed to run on automotive LPG. This revision concerns lowering the sulfur limit levels, inclusion of EN 16423 and updating towards revised versions of EN 15470 and EN 15471. LPG is a highly volatile hydrocarbon liquid which is normally stored under pressure. If the pressure is released large volumes of gas will be produced which form flammable mixtures with air over the range of approximately 2 % (V/V) to 10 % (V/V). This European Standard involves the sampling, handling and testing of LPG. All procedures should be conducted away from sources of ignition such as naked flames, unprotected electrical equipment and electrostatic hazards. Testing should be performed as far as practicable under an electrically-safe ventilation hood. LPG in liquid form can cause cold burns to the skin. Protective clothing such as gloves and goggles should be worn if contact with the skin is likely to occur. Unnecessary inhalation of LPG vapour should be avoided. The operator should not be exposed to atmospheres containing more than 1 800 mg/m3 over an 8 h time-weighted average (TWA) reference period, or more than 2 250 mg/m3 over a short term, 10 min reference period. One of the tests described in this European Standard involves the operator inhaling a mixture of air and LPG vapour. Particular attention is drawn to the cautionary statement provided in A.1, where this method is referred to.
